St. Patrick's Day

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? And more precisely, how was St. Patrick's Day?! For those who don't know what I'm talking about, here's a post I wrote one year ago explaining what St. Patrick's is all about: link. Also I enjoyed the celebration of this day last year a lot, and I also blogged about it in this post entitled "The Green Day": link.

Now, even though we're in the middle of finals session at Berkeley, I couldn't miss the day! Moreover, it was a beautiful one, it definitely felt like spring! I didn't get to see the parade this time, but the whole city is a show itself. There's no way you'll be bored if you step out on St. Patrick's day. Also be ready to face intoxicated people (of all ages and kinds) at every corner. Nevertheless, no need to panic, people are just having a good time!

I left my apartment after lunch and my first stop was around Times Square. It was difficult to meet my friends there, because it was crazy packed with people wearing green. When we finally met, we went to an Irish pub called McGees, like I actually did one year ago! The coolest thing about this bar is that the bar where How I Met Your Mother's cast hangs out (McLarens in the show) was based on this one. They even have pictures of the show around the place.

Of course the place was crazy crowded. I had a lot of fun, since everyone was in such a cheerful mood. I still find it bizarre to be out so early in the day, but hey... won't say no to a day like this in the middle of the finals session!

We kept moving around the area and finally headed down to Greenwich Village, which is a great area to hang out on a day like this.

The cool thing is that having started so early, made us finish early so I was home at a decent hour to be able to wake up in the morning today and catch up with everything. Yes, the nerd is back on Sunday.

I would also like to wish good luck to all of you Berkeley people for this week! Let's do one last effort to ace this quarter and then enjoy the awaited spring break!!

Have a great week and see you soon!
